NATIONAL OPEN UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA (NOUN) ANNOUNCES 13TH CONVOCATION CEREMONY

The 13th Convocation Ceremony of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) is scheduled to be held between April 12 – 13, 2024, according to an announcement from the Registrar of the university, Mr. Oladipo Ajayi.

The announcement said the ceremony would be held both on-site and off-site as those billed to attend the on-site event were urged to be seated before 9am at the university’s Convocation Arena, Jabi, Abuja.

The Convocation Lecture, which will be held on April 12 by 11am, is to be delivered by the Vice-Chancellor, Open University of Tanzania, United Republic of Tanzania, Prof. Elifas Tozo Bisanda, on the topic: “Is Western Education Still Relevant for Africa?”

 

The Convocation Ceremony, where the graduates would be awarded various degrees, will be held on April 13 at 10am at the Convocation Arena of the university, the announcement said.

It added that only first-class graduands, first-degree graduands in the study centers of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), PGD, award winners, masters degrees, doctorates degree graduands, and honourary doctorate degrees are to attend the on-site ceremony at the university headquarters.

 

The ceremonies will be preceded by an Investiture of His Majesty, Omo N’ Oba N’Edo Uku’ Akpolokpolo Ewuare II, the Oba of Benin, as Chancellor of the university on Thursday, April 11, 2024, by 12noon at the university’s Convocation Arena, Jabi, Abuja.
