2024 UTME: OVER 4,000 PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES TO GET FREE UTME FORMS

Hon. Dawodu commended JAMB for its effective administration concerning persons living with disabilities (PLWD). He specifically praised Prof. Oloyede as a champion of inclusive education, acknowledging the positive changes brought about by relevant technology. The establishment of the JAMB-Equal Opportunity Group (JEOG) for candidates with disabilities, especially the blind, received special recognition.

 

 

 

He advised the Registrar to prioritize the interests of PLWD in infrastructural development and the construction of Computer-Based Test (CBT) Centers, ensuring they are more user-friendly.

 

 

 

Highlighting the committee’s dedication to fostering inclusivity, Hon. Dawodu appreciated JAMB’s

recommendation of free application document donations to candidates with disabilities, considering it long overdue.

 

 

 

The Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) deemed JAMB’s initiative commendable, estimating around 4,000 of their members would benefit. Mr. Abdullahi Aliyu Usman, National President of JONAPWD, expressed gratitude and urged the disabled community to seize the opportunity provided by JAMB for inclusivity in the Nigerian educational system. He also extended appreciation to Prof. Is-haq Oloyede as a notable advocate for the Disabled Community, wishing him success in his tenure.
