The management of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) Nigeria has debunked the claim by some sections of Nigerian media that it has newly introduced a resit examination to be conducted between January and February for candidates who may need make-up papers in their senior school certificate examination (WASSCE).
The organization said the report did not emanate from Nigeria and it is not meant for Nigerian candidates but originated from Ghana and for Ghanaian candidates.
In the viral report, the WAEC’s Head of Public Affairs, John Kapi, who was quoted as a source of the story is a Ghanaian working for the Ghana office of WAEC.
