The management of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS) under the Vice Chancellor, Prof Bashir Garba, and the Registrar, Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria, Prof Mark C. Okeji has on Tuesday, 10th of September, 2024, inducted thirty-seven (37) Radiography graduands into the Radiography profession.
The Oath-taking and induction ceremony of the 2022/2023 Radiography graduands which was the fifth of its kind took place in the university auditorium between 10:00 AM to 12:40 PM.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor (DVC) on Academics, Prof M.G Mahuta, represented the VC who couldn’t attend the occasion in-person. Prof Malaki Ejimofor also represented the Registrar to induct the 37 graduands who encompasses 10 vibrant ladies and 27 gentlemen.
Prof Ejimofor congratulated the latest Radiographers for stepping into the profession and admonished them to practice their obtained skills and knowledge. Also, he encouraged them not to let the degree obtained be their final stage but rather pursue their master’s and PhD for professional advancement.
Rad. Muhammad Abacha, the Head of Department (HOD) of Radiography, delivered an insightful speech, where he acknowledged high performing graduands of the set — Optimus Radiantes.
He gave accolades to Rad. Abdulkareem Abdulkabir Olamilekan, as the best class representative in the history of the department who didn’t give up from 100-level till final-year. “Despite being an active class rep, he is the fifth best graduating student.”
The 2022/2023 Radiography graduands made it out of history as Rad. Ndaman Usman Muhammad and Rad. Hamza Shuaibu Mubarak emerged as the overall best-graduating students with the same CGPA of 4.46. Likewise, Rad. Amina Musa Fago emerged as the overall best female student.
Rad. Abdulkareem Abdulkabir Olamilekan, emerged as the most supportive male student, while Rad. Fatimatu Abdullahi Bature emerged as the most supportive female student.
Rad. Maryam Abubakar Chika and Rad. David Daniel Korbe were awarded as the overall best in seminar presentation. Rad. Maryam Mustapha Hassan was awarded as the most responsible graduating student. Whereas, Rad. Fatimatu Abdullahi Bature emerged as the overall best-behaved graduating student.
Moreover, Rad. Adamu Muhammad Jafaru was awarded as the overall eloquent graduating student. The dedicated best-graduating student was awarded to Rad. Abubakar Maryam Chika.
In the same vein, Rad. Adebayo Abdullateef Musa emerged as the 2nd best-graduating student, while Rad. Toyeeb Abdulsalam was awarded as the 3rd best-graduating student.
