UNIVERSITY OF MEDICAL SCIENCES, ONDO ANNOUNCES APPLICATION INTO B.SC CONVERSION PROGRAMME FOR 2024/2025 ACADEMIC SESSION

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the University of Medical Sciences, B.Sc. Conversion Programmes under the Institute of Distance Learning and Continuing Education, Akure Campus.

General Requirements for All UNIMED B. Sc. Conversion Programmes

1. A candidate for B.Sc. Conversion Programme in UNIMED must have obtained 5 credit passes in the following O’Level Subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology in WAEC / NECO/GCE in not more than two (2) sittings

2. Evidence of NYSC discharge/exemption certificate.

3. Academic/Official transcripts must be processed and mandatorily provided before admission. An electronic copy of the official transcript can be forwarded to: [email protected]

The following are the available courses under the various faculties:

FACULTY OF DENTAL SCIENCES

B. Sc. Conversion Programme in Dental Therapy (BDent T)

Programme Duration – 6 semesters

Admission Requirements

All candidates for admission to the B Dental Therapy degree by conversion must possess the following:

Higher National Diploma (HND) certificate with minimum of upper credit

The candidate must also obtain satisfactory pass at any further examination conducted by the University.

B. Sc. Conversion Programme in Dental Technology

Programme Duration – 6 semesters

Admission Requirements

All candidates for admission to the B. Sc (Dental Technology) degree by conversion must possess Higher National Diploma (HND) in Dental Technology with minimum of lower credit pass.
Candidate must also obtain satisfactory pass at any further examination conducted by the University.

FACULTY OF ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCES

B. Sc. Conversion Programme in Health Information Management (HIM)

Programme Duration – Two (2) years, 3 semesters per year

Admission Requirements

Candidates shall be holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) in Health Information Management from recognized and accredited training schools.
Candidates must possess evidence of participation in the NYSC (discharge certificate) or certificate of exemption from the scheme.

FACULTY OF MEDICAL REHABILITATION

Admission into Transitional-Doctor of Physiotherapy

Admission Requirements for 18 months duration (3 semesters)

Candidate must have obtained a first degree- BSc PT, BMR PT, BPT from a 4 or 5 year training programme within or outside Nigeria.
Candidates shall possess a minimum of second class lower division in BSc PT, BMR (PT) or BPT.
Candidates with Third Class degree in Physiotherapy but with additional Postgraduate National Diploma certificate in any relevant fields can also be offered admission into the 18-months duration programme.

Admission Requirements for 12 months duration (2 semesters)

The candidate must satisfy the minimum requirements as stipulated for the 18 months programme but must have additional postgraduate qualification(s) with a minimum of MSc in physiotherapy or relevant fields (MPH, MSc in Exercise science or Physiology, Physiology, Anatomy and Biochemistry).

B. PO. Conversion Programme in Prosthetics and Orthotics

Duration of Programme: six (6) semesters.

Admission Requirements

Candidates shall possess a minimum of Higher National Diploma (HND) in Prosthetics and Orthotics Technology from Recognized / approved Institution with a minimum of lower credit).

Note: Current MRTB practicing license is required for both tDPT and P&O.
