THREE LASU LECTURERS WIN 9 MILLION NAIRA LASRIC RESEARCH AND INNOVATION GRANT

A Professor in the School Of Transport and Logistics, Prof. Samuel Odewunmi, a Professor of Biochemistry, Prof. Oluwatosin Benedict Adu and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry, Dr. Gbemisola Moronke Saibu, have been awarded grants to the tune of Nine Million Naira (N9,000,000) in the Lagos State Science and Research Council Research and Innovation Grant.

Prof. Odewunmi won the sum of Three Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N3,500,000) for his project titled “Formulation and Production of Road Repair Composite from Solid Waste Material: Plastics, Polyethylene Bags, Quarry Dusts and Sand”, while Prof. Adu won Two Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N2,500,000) for his project titled “Production and Development of Terminalia Catappa (Indian Almond) Nut for Industrial Application.”

On her part, Dr. Saibu won Three Million Naira (N3,000,000) for her project titled “Assessment of Chemical Composition of Catfish Oil, Development of Body Cream and Patent.”

Their award followed a call for grant application by LASRIC in the Research and Innovation field with special focus on circular econony and cloud computing.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, congratulates the awardees on their success in the exercise and assures that the university will give them all the neccessary support to ensure that the projects and successfully completed and submitted.
