TARABA STATE UNIVERSITY MATRICULATES 6,339 STUDENTS FOR 2023/2024 ACADEMIC SESSION

The Taraba State University, Jalingo has matriculated six thousand, three hundred and thirty-nine students for the 2023/ 2024 academic session.

 

Addressing the matriculating students, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Sunday Paul Bako charged them to take advantage of the opportunity and excel in their academic journey.

Professor Bako also encouraged the new students to explore the state of the art facilities available in the institution towards acquiring knowledge to contribute their quota to the development of the state and the nation at large.

The Vice Chancellor reminded the students that their stay in the campus is not only about acquiring knowledge, but also about developing skills, values and character.

He warned them against indulging in anti-social vices such as drug abuse, cultism and examination malpractice which he said can jeopardize their academic pursuit and future.

The VC highlighted achievements recorded under his stewardship to include several Internal Revenue Generation initiatives, accreditation of fifty three academic programmes by the NUC and establishment of more faculties among other giant strides.

He applaud Governor Agbu Kefas for embarking on massive infrastructural initiatives in the university such as installation of solar street lights,renovation of hostels,support for successful accreditation and reduction of tuition fees among others.

The VC concluded by thanking the government for its efforts and commitment towards the wellbeing of staff and students which has improved teaching and learning activities in the institution.
