STRIKE: THERE MAY BE A DELAY IN THE 2022 VARSITY ADMISSION PROCESS — VICE-CHANCELLOR’S
Prof. Yakubu Ochefu, Secretary of the Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities, has stated that the Academic Staff Union of Universities’ current strike may cause delays in university admissions in 2022. In an interview with The PUNCH on Thursday, Ochefu revealed this.
The committee is also working with the government to ensure that all issues are rectified, according to the scribe.
“Due to the strike and the interruption of the academic calendar, the admission procedure may be delayed.”
It happened during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020, as well as the 2020 ASUU strike. The majority of universities then batch-admitted students.

While the strike by ASUU entered its 86th day, today [Thursday], the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics is scheduled to commence its two-week warning strike on Monday, May 16, 2022.
