Public Declaration of Interest
I am Comrade Moshood Olalere Samuel aka Samgrin. The 28th LASUSU president and a post graduate students of Lagos State University made bold to announce my intention to serve in the capacity of ‘The Chairman, National Association of Nigerian Students, Joint Campus Committee, Lagos Axis’ (NANS JCC LAGOS).
The NANS JCC Lagos Axis Convention has been slated for 22nd of December, 2020. This decision was reached, at the NANS JCC Lagos Axis pre-convention held at YABATECH on the 16th of December, 2020 under the able leadership of the Outgoing NANS JCC LAGOS Axis executives ably led by Comrade Busari Abdulqowiyy.
Going by this, I present myself, Comrade Moshood Olalere Samuel aka Samgrin for election into the office of The Chairman, NANS Lagos Axis through the constitutionally provided transition method as stipulated by NANS JCC Lagos Axis bye Law.
NANS as an association of students particular NANS JCC Lagos Axis needs capable hands to take up it’s leadership to be able to meets the yearnings and aspirations of her members. Meanwhile, we have had so many credible and indefatigable leadership of NANS JCC Lagos axis at different time in history and they all served to the best of their capacities and capabilities.
My intent to lead the organization was born out of my desire to push the struggle of NANS JCC Lagos axis forward. This is achievable with the support of all stakeholders in NANS JCC Lagos axis.
My Agenda is Grin Movement Agenda. The agenda encapsulate five key thematic area of interest. They are; to defend the democratic right of students to freedom of association, expression, quality education, personal liberty, safety and better welfare, to promote enterpreneurship and agriculture practice among students, to organize regular senate meeting of the organization and breed the culture of intellectual discourse, to address the question of finance that border on independence of our organization and that of campus unions, to campaign against gender base violence, rape, sexual harassment, police brutality, sex for marks and all other social issues as it affects students.
This is not my first time of leading an organization, I have led before and garnered showers of accolades/meritorious awards for outstanding leadership and with this, I hope to lead again. With your support and I am hopeful, I will led successfully.
I am aware our organization has not done enough in the very recent past to advocate for and defend the right of her members, as such it has suffered a tainted public image, but Comrades, believers, Senators and my co students, believe me, together we can drive our organization on the part of greatness and ensure it plays her historical role in the struggle for the emancipation of Nigerian Students in Lagos axis.
Colleagues, the time is now to elect a revolutionary and progressive visionary, Comrade Moshood Olalere Samuel aka Samgrin as the next Chairman, NANS JCC Lagos axis. It will be my delight to serve you all. Thank you.
