Admission Call for School of Community Health
Applications are hereby announced for eligible individuals to apply for enrollment into the School of Community Health at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex in Ile-Ife for the academic session of 2024/2025.
The Training Programmes, scheduled to run for either one or two calendar years, will kick off in September 2024, resulting in the attainment of a Higher Diploma in Community Health.
ENTRY REQUIREMENT.
(A). EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must possess either the West African School Certificate/GCE “O” Level or the Senior Secondary School Certificate (NECO) with five credit level passes achieved in not more than two sittings. These passes must include English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE FOR ONE (1) CALENDAR YEAR PROGRAMME
Beyond the aforementioned qualifications, applicants need the following professional qualifications and experience to be eligible:
Completion of training as a Community Health Extension Worker.
Hold a First Degree in Community Health Science, Health Education, Public Health, or an HND in Community Health Science.
Registration with the Community Health Practitioners’ Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN) and possession of a valid practicing license.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE FOR TWO (2) CALENDAR YEARS PROGRAMME
Apart from the qualifications stated in (a) above, applicants should have any of the below professional qualifications and experience to be considered eligible:
Possession of a Diploma in Community Health.
Certification as a Community Health Extension Worker with at least five years of experience.
Registration with the Community Health Practitioners’ Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN) and holding a current practicing license.
(B) WRITTEN TEST AND ORAL INTERVIEW
The selection process will be based on candidates’ performance in a Competitive Written test scheduled for Monday, 8th July, 2024, and an Oral interview set for Tuesday, 9th July, 2024.
Candidates are requested to bring their original certificates and practicing licenses to the examination center.
(C) METHOD OF APPLICATION
To obtain an application form, applicants should visit the School of Community Health at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile-Ife starting Monday, 5th February 2024. The form is available for a fee of Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000.00) only after making payment into the OAUTHC School Account through any commercial bank using the REMITA platform (Account Number 0280190665014 GIFMIS code 1000277586). The purpose of payment should be indicated as “Admission Form into School of Community Health”. Subsequently, proof of payment should be presented at the school to obtain the admission form.
(D) CLOSING DATE
Completed application forms endorsed by sponsors, along with photocopies of relevant credentials, must be submitted to the School of Community Health at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile-Ife by Friday, 28th June, 2024.
