*VC MOURNS AS FORMER DEAN, FACULTY OF EDUCATION, PROF. AMBROSE AKINKUOTU, PASSES ON*

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, has received with shock, news of the death of Professor of Philosophy of Education, the Faculty of Education and former Dean of the faculty, Professor Yemi Ambrose Akinkuotu, whose sad demise occurred in the morning of Monday, 12th September, 2022 at age of 63 years.

Prof. Akinkuotu, who was a member of the 12th Governing Council of Lagos State University and member, Lagos State University College of Medicine Court of Governors, died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital after a brief illness.

The Vice Chancellor, described him as a consummate educator and fine administrator unrepentantly committed to the course of the LASU Project. She recalled that the deceased served with zeal and zest on every assignment of the university committed to his hands and made very valuable contributions to the Council and Court of Govenors where he served until his death, on Monday.

She particularly condoles with the Faculty of Education family, where he was Dean between 2018 and 2020, as well as members of the Governing Council and Court of Governors on the loss.

She prays that the Lord will comfort his beloved family and give each and everyone connected to him in one way or the other the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. Amen.

Burial arrangement will be announced as provided by the family, in due course.
