The Lagos State University, #LASU has once again ranked as the best state university in Nigeria in the 2022 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings.
The rankings was released today, 2nd September 2021 and had the best universities in Africa spanning across 10 countries, from Uganda in the east to Nigeria in the west, Morocco in the north to South Africa.
In Nigeria, University of Ibadan (UI) is ranked first but fifth in Africa and tied alongside four other universities in Africa while ranked in the 401 – 500 range in the world as well.

5. University of Nigeria, Nsukka (World Ranking: 1000+; 2021 Africa Ranking: 27th)
6. Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Ile-Ife (World Ranking: 1000+; 2021 Africa Ranking: 27th)
With this, Nigeria has 6 Universities listed in the top 500 of the global ranking.
The ranking rates university performance using 13 indicators measuring teaching, research, research impact, innovation and international outlook.
The Lagos State University, #LASU is also ranked 1st in Nigeria for the Young University Rankings 2021 standing tall at 149th globally with Covenant University coming at a distant rank of 201-250 as the second and only university considered in the top 475 Varsities ranked globally.
