LASUCOM IS BEST IN AFRICA, WINS MEDICAL STUDENTS’ ASSOCIATION COMPETITION
Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM) has beaten 33 other Medical Students Associations from 10 African Countries to win the maiden edition of African Inter-Medical Students’ Association (MSA) Quiz Competition, which held recently.
LASUCOM, represented by four students – Joshua Oyelowo, Ibrahim Kamson, Osunsanmi Olugbemi and Sangosanya Oluwagbotemi, who led the team, were awarded with a cash prize of $150 for emerging winners while each of the outstanding students got automatic one year premium access to Lecturio.
The MSA Quiz Competition, organized by FAMSA SCOMER in partnership with Lecturio covered Clinical, Pre-Clinical, Mathematics, Logics, and General Knowledge.
The President of the LASU Medical Students’ Association (LASUMSA), Moshood Habeeb, on Thursday, led a delegation of nine students, comprising executives of the Body and winners of the MSA competition to the VC’s office to present their award to the University’s Chief Executive and intimate her of other proposed activities of the Body.
He reported to the delight of the VC and members of the University Management present that LASUMSA will also be playing host to the Nigeria Medical Students’ Association (NIMSA) General Assembly scheduled to hold later this year.
The VC, in her response, expressed her delight to receive the students and congratulated them on winning the MSA competition. “You have done us proud. Congratulations to you. We will support you to host the General Assembly and I believe you will continue to do us proud. I am glad to know that beyond academics, you are also excelling in other areas”, she said.
