JAMB ANNOUNCES REGISTRATION VERIFICATION CODE, RULES FOR CBT CENTER

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced the code to which applicants must send their National Identification Number (NIN) upon registration

The body has previously declared that the NIN is mandatory for the 2021 Unified Tertiary Diploma Exams (UTME) and direct entry registration.

The clerk, Professor Is-haq Oloyede, met on Friday in Abuja with owners of computer testing centers (CBTs) and other stakeholders.

Oloyede gave the phone verification code 55019.

The Registrar also listed the rules that all JAMB accredited CBT centers must follow.

No center or its official would be allowed to be a NIN registrar.

Centers should not collect above N700 for Applicant Service Fee.

There will be no offline or proxy registration; all applicants with biometric issues should be referred to the board headquarters in Abuja.

The centers must not put any other SIM card next to the one provided by JAMB in another router in another center

Parents or guardians should not have access to the centers; they should not do tutorials unless they are pro-bono work.

Oloyede said that for centers with more than one location, if one of them commits an infraction, all the centers will be removed.

Accredited centers must have a public address system and must fully comply with COVID-19 protocols.

All photos of candidates must be taken on a white background in the centers during registration or the centers may be deleted.

“We are offering 20 free access codes to all centers to avoid overcrowding. There should be no transfer of these access codes to another center.

“We will not tolerate any center opening less than 10 accesses, unless there is no candidate to register,” added Oloyede.
