Admission Requirements
Candidates are admitted into the B.Sc. Degree programme of the department in any of the following ways:- through
- Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)
- Direct Entry
- Inter-University Transfer
- JUPEB one year programme
1. UTME ENTRY MODE
- The minimum academic requirement is credit level passes in five subjects at O/Level in nationally recognized examination including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings. In addition, an acceptable pass in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) based on the approved cut-off for the current academic session in which a candidate is seeking admission, is required for Admission into 100 Level.
2. DIRECT ENTRY MODE
- (a) In addition to O/Level requirements stipulated above, applicants should possess at least two A/Level papers in relevant subjects.
- (b) OND in relevant discipline with at least upper credit grade in addition to the five credit passes as in relevant subjects.
- (c) HND in relevant discipline with at least upper credit in addition to five credit passes as in relevant subjects.
3. JOINT UNIVERSITIES PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION BOARD (JUPEB)
- Candidate must possess minimum of 5 credits at minimum of two (2) sittings in at least 5 subjects relevant to the Desired Department which form the basis for the candidate admission into the Joint University Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB) Programme. The candidate must have undertaken JUPEB Examination course relevant to the Department in a minimum of an academic session of two semesters. The candidate must successfully meet up with the acceptable score/pass for admission into any Department as specified by the University and JUPEB Regulations.
4. INTER-UNIVERSITY TRANSFER
Candidates wishing to transfer into the Department from another University must have:
- Obtained and filled the Inter-University Transfer form from the University Admissions Office.
- Satisfied the Department Minimum academic standard required for such level.
