The Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has approved immediate payment of a sum of Two hundred million naira (#200,000,000) scholarship for all the indigenous students of Ondo State in tertiary institutions.
According to a statement by the permanent secretary of the scholarship board, Rev. Akin Asaniyan, the payment will be paid immediately.
Governor Akeredolu has also increased Law students scholarship fund to a sum One hundred thousand naira (#100,000) per person.
“ONDO STATE GOVERNMENT APPROVES DISBURSEMENT OF FUND FOR SCHOLARSHIP AND BURSARY AWARDS. Mr Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN,CON. has approved sum of Two hundred million naira (#200,000,000) scholarship/ Bursary for indigenous students of Ondo State in tertiary institutions across the nation.
“Mr Governor who expressed his concern for the welfare of the students at this critical period of economic hardship.He opined that the award would alleviate same.
“Governor Akeredolu has also increased Law students’ scholarship to One hundred thousand naira(#100,000).
“The Hon Commissioner Ministry of Education, Science and Technology expressed appreciation for the gesture especially at this dire time.
“He admonished the students to face their studies and wished them success in their education.
“The permanent secretary of the scholarship board, Rev. Akin Asaniyan appreciated Mr Governor for this kind gesture,” the Statement reads.
