AOCOED’ll Keep Producing Best Teachers, Says Provost

The Provost, Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Oto/Ijaninkin, Prof. Balikis Lafiaji-Okuneye, has assured the alumni association of the institution that her administration will ensure the college keeps producing the best teachers for the country.

A statement by the National Public Relations Officer, AOCOED Alumni association, Opeyemi Eniola, said Lafiaji-Okuneye made this know during an award ceremony for monarchs, professors and outstanding Lagos state teachers.

Lafiaji-Okuneye appreciated the alumni association for their support in making the college proud by winning big at several events.

She said, “My administration will give its best to ensure that the college builds on the existing achievements to produce the best teachers for society as one of the best citadels of learning.”

The National President of the association, Dr Oluwashina Akintolure, listed the giant stride its members have achieved in AOCOED which included the completion of the alumni secretariat, annual Christmas carol and Ramadan lectures, stipends for the Muslim community during Ramadan fasting, special prize for best graduating students and donation of notebooks and pens to students.

The statement said during an interactive session with the provost, one of the awardees who was also an alumnus of the college,The Ovori of Ibeshe, Oba Gausu Rasak, was quoted to have said the monarchs who graduated from the institution were making efforts to ensure the college was upgraded to a University of Education without delay.

Recall that some alumni of the college were recently honored as ambassadors of education in Lagos State by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, during the Lagos State Teachers Merit Award.
