Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) DAC Admission Form for 2020/2021 Academic Session [HND, ND, PRE-ND AND CERTIFICATE PROGRAMMES] Now on Sale

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Division of Agricultural Colleges (DAC), Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Higher National Diploma (HND), National Diploma (ND), Pre-National Diploma (Pre-ND) and Certificates programmes for the 2020/2021 academic session.

ABU DAC Courses

The programmes offered in the three Colleges under DAC are as follows:

A. SAMARU COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE, ZARIA

ABU DAC Admission Requirements

HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND):

All candidates wishing to apply into any of the Higher National Diploma programmes should have National Diploma with at least Lower Credit in any relevant accredited Agricultural programmes plus a minimum of one (1) year working experience after graduation.

Candidates must also have credit passes in the relevant five subjects including Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry/Physics and Agricultural Science/Biology at WAEC (GCE), NECO and NABTEB. The five credit passes are pre-requisites for the admission into the National Diploma programmes.

Other specific requirements for the individual courses are as follows:

a. Agricultural Extension and Management: Candidates must have National Diploma in Agricultural Technology, Agricultural Engineering Technology, Animal Health and Production Technology and NCE (DM).

b. Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering Technology (Farm Power and Machinery): Candidates must have National Diploma in Agricultural Engineering Technology or relevant programmes.

c. Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering Technology (Soil and Water). As in (1b) above.

d. Pest Management Technology: Candidates must have National Diploma in Agricultural Technology, Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering Technology and Science Laboratory Technology.

e. Animal Health Technology: Candidates must have a National Diploma in Animal Health and Production Technology.

f. Animal Production Technology: Candidates must have a National Diploma in Animal Health and Production Technology or Agricultural Technology.

g. Crop Production Technology: Candidates must have a National Diploma in Agricultural Technology (General Agriculture)

h. Horticulture and Landscape Technology: Candidates must have National Diploma in Agricultural Technology, Horticulture and Landscape Technology or Forestry Technology

i. Home and rural Economics: Candidates must have National Diploma in Home and Rural Economics, Food and Nutrition, Hotel Management Technology, Catering, Food and Dietetics or NCE in Home Economics (DM).

j. Pasture and Range Management: Candidates must have National Diploma in Agricultural Technology, Animal Health and Production Technology, Forestry Technology or Wildlife Management.

Candidates with a PASS at National Diploma will not be considered for admission into

NB: Higher National Diploma programmes of DAC except with at least 3 years of cognate experience after graduation. However, graduates of the Division of Agricultural Colleges with a ‘pass grade’ need a minimum of 2 years of cognate experience after graduation before they will be considered for admission into Higher National Diploma programmes of the DAC.

NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND):

Entry requirements into the National Diploma Programmes must be through JAMB, the cut-off point into the programmes is normally determined at every year’s JAMB policy meeting.

Candidates must have Credit Passes in English Language and Mathematics as stipulated by the National Policy on Education. Other relevant credits subjects at WAEC ordinary level, NECO, NABTEB, or Teachers Grade II at not more than two sittings or a combination of any of the two, e.g. WAEC plus NECO. The 5 subjects for various courses are not strictly the same and vary as follows:

a. Agricultural Technology
Credits level passes in 5 subjects that must include English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry and any other from the following: Geography, Economics and Physics.

b. Agricultural and Bio-environmental Engineering Technology Programme
Credits level passes in 5 subjects that must include English Language and Mathematics, Physics, Biology / Agricultural Science and any other one from Chemistry / Geography / Economics/Further Mathematics.

c. Home and Rural Economics Programme
Credit level passes in 5 subjects that must include English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science/Food & Nutrition/Home Management and any other from the following: Geography, Economics, Religious Knowledge, Nigerian Languages.

d. Animal Health and Production Technology
Credit level passes in 5 subjects that must include English Language and Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry and any other from the following: Geography, Economics and Physics.

e. Fisheries Technology
Credit level passes in 5 subjects that must include English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry and any other from the following: Geography, Economics and Physics.

f. Horticulture and Landscape Technology
Credit level passes in 5 subjects that must include English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry; and any other from the following: Geography, Economics and Physics.

PRE-NATIONAL DIPLOMA/REMEDIAL (SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY)

Candidates wishing to apply for Pre-ND must have at least passes in four relevant subjects at ‘O’ Level in WASC/GCE/NECO or NABTEB. The Pre-ND programme is only to prepare the candidate to pass the UTME examination and ‘O’ level certificate.

CERTIFICATE COURSES

Candidates wishing to apply for Certificate Programme must have a minimum of two non-credit passes in any of the science subjects at WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or both.

How to Apply for ABU DAC Admission Form

i. NATIONAL DIPLOMA: Application forms for National Diploma (ND) are obtainable on payment of two thousand Naira (N2,000.00) only.

ii. HND, PRE-ND & CERTIFICATE: Application forms for HND, PRE-ND & Certificate are obtainable on payment of two thousand five hundred Naira (N2,500.00) only.

  • Click on the link “2020/2021 application form are currently on sale click on purchase”.
  • Click on the link “2020/2021 application form are currently on sale click on purchase”.
  • Select “click here to apply”.
  • Enter the relevant information and click “Create Account”.
  • Click at “Generate RRR” to obtain your RRR Transaction ID.

Then, you have the option to either click on “Pay via Remita” using your ATM card or print “Transaction Slip” and make your payment at any commercial bank that is online.
