The attention of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has been drawn to messages making rounds on social media purporting that Security personnel will be used as invigilators for the forthcoming WASSCE for School Candidates 2021.

WAEC wishes to inform the general public that such information is untrue and it is a deliberate ploy by some individuals to tarnish the image of the Council.

WAEC further wishes to make it clear that only Principals and teachers will serve as supervisors/invigilators for its examinations. However, police officers will be used to escort confidential materials to and from the examination centers and maintain law and order as stipulated in the Council’s Security Regulations.
