The Management of Maritime Academy of Nigeria hereby invites suitable and qualified candidates for admission into various Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes of the Academy for the 2020/2021 Academic Session.
Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN) HND Courses & Duration.
The duration of Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes is two (2) years, divided into four (4) semesters. The following programmes are on offer:
- Nautical Science
- Marine Engineering
- Maritime Transport and Business Management
Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN) HND Admission Requirements.
Candidates seeking admission into the Academy must have a functional and accessible electronic mail address (E-mail) and mobile phone number.
A. Nautical Science
a. Applicants Must possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent with at least FIVE CREDIT passes in subjects which must include.
– Mathematics
– English Language,
– Physics
– Geography,
– and any other related Science subjects obtained in NOT MORE THAN TWO SITTINGS.
b. Applicants Must possess a National Diploma Certificate in Nautical Science with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of not less than 2.50 (Lower Credit) from the Maritime Academy of Nigeria or other accredited institution listed with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Also, candidates must have JAMB Registration number.
c. Applicants Must have completed a minimum of one-year post-ND Industrial Training with evidence or must have acquired a minimum of one-year cognate work experience in a relevant organisation.
d. Candidates with PASS at National Diploma level from Maritime Academy of Nigeria or other accredited institution must have completed a minimum of two years Post-ND Industrial Training with evidence or must have acquired a minimum of two years cognate work experience in a relevant organisation.
B. Marine Engineering
a. Applicants Must possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent with at least FIVE CREDIT passes in subjects which must include
– Mathematics
– English Language,
– Physics,
– Chemistry,
– and any other related Science subjects obtained in NOT MORE THAN TWO SITTINGS
b. Applicants Must possess a National Diploma Certificate in Marine Engineering with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of not less than 2.50 (Lower Credit) from the Maritime Academy of Nigeria or other accredited institution listed with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Also, candidates must have JAMB Registration number.
c. Applicants Must have completed a minimum of one-year post-ND Industrial Training with evidence or must have acquired a minimum of one-year cognate work experience in a relevant organisation.
d. Candidates with PASS at National Diploma level from Maritime Academy of Nigeria or other accredited institution must have completed a minimum of two years Post-ND Industrial Training with evidence or must have acquired a minimum of two years cognate work experience in a relevant organisation.
C. Maritime Transport and Business Management
a. Applicants Must possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent with at least FIVE CREDIT passes in subjects which must include:
– Mathematics,
– English Language,
– Economics,
– and any two of Commerce, Government, Financial Accounting and Business Management obtained in NOT MORE THAN TWO SITTINGS.
b. Applicants Must possess a National Diploma Certificate in Maritime Transport and Business Studies with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of not less than 2.50 (Lower Credit) from the Maritime Academy of Nigeria or other accredited institution listed with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Also, candidates must have JAMB Registration number
c. Applicants Must have completed a minimum of one-year post-ND Industrial Training with evidence or acquired a minimum of one-year cognate work experience in a relevant organization.
d. Applicants with PASS at National Diploma level from Maritime Academy of Nigeria or other accredited institution must have completed a minimum of two years post-ND Industrial Training with evidence or acquired a minimum of two years cognate work experience in a relevant organisation.
ACADEMY TRANSCRIPT
Academic Transcript of Applicants from other accredited institution must reach the Academic Registrar on or before the Closure of application portal and a copy to [email protected]
How to Apply for Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN) HND Admission Form.
Registration Fee: N20,000.00.
Online registration will commence from Monday, 12th October to Friday, 13th November 2020.
Eligible candidate should log on to the Academy website www.maritimeacademy.gov.ng and take the following steps:
- Click on Admission – HND/ND Registration Portal
- Create an Account
- Generate and Print the Payment Slip
- Proceed to any of the banks listed on the portal to make payment using eTranzact Payment Platform or pay online
- Return to the Academy Portal to complete the Registration Form.
PHYSICAL AND MEDICAL FITNESS
Due to the peculiar requirements of the Institution and the maritime industry as well as International Convention on Standard of Training, Certification and Watch keeping (STCW) 95 as amended in 2010 which mandates all sea men to be physically and mentally fit to work in the maritime industry, all applicants are expected to be physically and mentally fit to be able to withstand the rigours/challenges of the cadetship training.
Candidate must undergo some medical test at any Government Hospital and upload their medical status on the application portal. The list of medical tests can be found on the application portal dashboard.
Candidate should print-out Application Medical Examination Form (Form M) from the application portal. This form should be duly completed and signed before upload on the portal.

ADVISORY:
