2023 ELECTION: AHMADU BELLO UNIVERSITY, ZARIA [ABU] SUSPENDS ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

AHMADU BELLO UNIVERSITY ORDERS CLOSURE OF SCHOOL, OBEYS NUC DIRECTIVE

The Senate of Ahmadu Bello University,

at its 519th (Regular) meeting held today

(Monday, 20th February, 2023),

approved the closure of the institution

from Wednesday, 22nd February, 2023

to Tuesday, 14th March, 2023 in line with

the directive of the Federal Ministry of

Education.

It would be recalled that the National

Universities Commission (NUC) had, on

Friday, 3rd February, 2023, conveyed the

Ministry’s directive to all universities and

inter-university centres to shut down

for the 2023 general elections.

Accordingly, the University will close for

all operations, including academic

activities, from Wednesday, 22nd

February. It will reopen on Wednesday,

15th March, 2023.

Therefore, all students are required to go

home, as all academic activities would be

suspended in accordance with the

directive.
