These days a low JAMB score does not necessarily mean that you cannot gain admission into a Federal or State University. Interestingly, many Federal and State Universities in the last few years have reduced their cut off marks
So with many of these schools bringing their cut-off marks down to 160, many candidates with low JAMB scores still have a good chance of securing admission.
The purpose of this post is to make it easier for candidates with low JAMB scores (160 and above) to be able to know federal and state universities that can accept them for Post-UTME screening exercise.
At the moment, below is the list of universities that accept low JAMB scores (160 and above) for Post-UTME screening exercise. Please note that this is based on what the school used as their cut-off marks last year.
IMPORTANT: It is advisable you do a JAMB change of institution to any of these schools you wish to apply to in order to stand a good chance of getting admitted.
Universities That Accept Low JAMB Scores (160 and above) For Post-UTME Screening
1. Cross River State University of Technology (CRUTECH): Cut-off mark is 160
2. Federal University Otuoke (FUOTUOKE): Cut-off Mark is 160
3. Yobe State University (YSU): Cut-off mark is 160
4. University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID): Cut-off Mark is 160
5. University of Calabar (UNICAL): Eligible JAMB Score is 160
6. Ebonyi State University (EBSU): Cut-off Mark: 170-250 depending on the course
7. Ambrose Alli University (AAU): Eligible JAMB Score 170
8. Bauchi State University (BASU): Cut-off Mark Is 160
9. Federal University Gusau (FUGUS): Cut-off Mark is 160
10. Kogi State University (KSU): Cut-off Mark is 160 – 230 depending on the course
11. Sule Lamido University (SLU): Cut-off Mark Is 160-180 depending on the course
12. Nasarawa State University (NSUK): Cut-off mark Is 170
13. Gombe State University (GSU): Cut off Mark is 160
14. Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida University (IBBU): Cut-off Mark is 160
15. Kaduna State University (KASU): Cut-off Mark Is 170
16. Federal University Dutse (FUD): Cut-off marks is 160-180
17. Kano State University of Science and Technology (KUST): Cut-off mark is 160
18. Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE): Cut-off Mark is 160
19. Federal University Lafia (FULAFIA): Cut-off mark is 170 but 200 for Medicine
20. Umaru Musa Yar’dua University (UMYU): Cut-off mark is 170
21. Niger Delta University (NDU): Cut-off mark is 160
22. Federal University Dutsinma (FUDutsinma): Cut-off mark is 160
23. Sokoto State University (SSU): Cut-off mark is 160
24. Federal University Markurdi (FUAM): Cut-off Mark is 170
NOTE: This list will be updated as we discover more schools that accept 160 and above. However, if you have a score of up to 160, you can equally apply to a polytechnic. Some top polytechnics usually set 150 as their cut-off marks.
So if you scored up to 160, you will have a high chance of securing admission in a polytechnic especially if you chose them as your first choice.
