2023 ELECTION: FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, OWERRI [FUTO] SUSPENDS ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

Federal University Of Technology,Owerri (FUTO), has directed the temporary suspension of academic activities from Wednesday February 2022 to Tuesday March 14,2023 as ordered by the federal Government.

Recall that the federal Government through the Minister Of Education,Mal Adamu Adamu, had last week ordered that all universities and inter universities centres be shut down and academic activities be suspended between February 22 and March 14,2023 due to concerned expressed on the security of staff, students and properties of respective institutions ahead of the upcoming general elections.

This was contained in an official statement released by the national university commission (NUC)

Following the Federal Governments directive,the management of FUTO has releases it’s own official statement,abiding by the directive.

The statement reads:

“This is to inform the University community that following managerial directive on the closure of all universities and inter university centres in view of the forthcoming 2023 general elections,

The University management has accordingly approved the temporary suspension of all academic activities in the university from Wednesday, February 22 go Tuesday,March 14,2023 , Academic activities will resume for all staff and students on Wednesday,March 15,2023
