Prof. Olatunji – Bello, mni, gave the charge at a meeting organized by the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) for schedule officers on the Central Clearance Process for the 2022/2023 admission exercise.

The meeting, which took place at the first floor, Senate Chamber, Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building, afforded the DICT the platform to provide necessary information and guidance to accredited users, on the workings of the LACACA platform in the build – up to the Matriculation exercise of the newly admitted students.

In her address, the Vice Chancellor noted that the Online Clearance is the last step before the Matriculation and thus, signifies that cleared Candidates are full students of the University.

She urged the schedule officers (accredited users) involved in the clearance process to ensure timely clearance of students at every point in time.

Her words, “I have been personally attending to the LACACA platform, clearing students at my end and so there is no reason why you (accredited users) should delay in the process flow. Do your part at the right time so that the clearance process can flow seamlessly. Do your job diligently by ensuring the suitability of admitted candidates to the departments they were offered.” She said

Director, DICT, Prof. Toyin Enikuomehin explained that the process flow of the Online Clearance goes from admitted students to the ICT, from there to the Faculty Officer and then to the Dean before the clearance is passed to the Vice Chancellor and Chairman of the admission process. A receipt of the admission clearance is then issued to the cleared students.

When the LACACA process starts, admitted students are required to login on the platform, verify their biodata, upload their credentials, view notification of clearance progress and print clearance report.

The meeting was attended by Provost and Deans, Faculty Officers, Admission Officer and selected ICT staff.

Members of staff in the Vice Chancellor’s Office, University Multimedia and Centre for Information and Public Relations were also in attendance.
